In the first half of the year, the production and sales of automobiles dragged the whole industry back. How to get out of the trough?
In the first half of the year, affected by factors such as the macroeconomic downturn and the implementation of the national six emission standards in some regions, automobile production and sales were at a low level, dragging down the overall performance of the machinery industry. From January to May, the cumulative growth rate of the added value of the machinery industry was 4.4%, lower than the national industrial and machinery industry in the same period last year. Where should the industry go out of the trough? Some companies have made useful explorations in smart manufacturing and service-oriented manufacturing. Experts predict that the industry is expected to stop falling in the second half of the year, and the annual growth rate is expected to reach 6% or so -
"In 2019, the industry economy started to be in a downturn." Wang Ruixiang, president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, said that from January to May, the cumulative growth rate of the value added of the machinery industry was 4.4%, lower than the level of the national industrial and machinery industry in the same period last year. The cumulative growth rate of the five major national economic sectors has declined from the previous year, especially in the automotive industry.
Wang Ruixiang made such a statement at the 15th "China Machinery Industry Top 100, Automotive Industry Top 30 Enterprise Information Conference" (hereinafter referred to as the "Publication Conference"). He also pointed out that the machinery industry must strengthen its confidence, actively promote structural reforms on the supply side, fill short-boards, and innovate and empower.
After the rebound, once again bottoming out
From the statistical data, in 2019, the growth rate of the value added of the machinery industry fluctuated greatly, and there was a situation of decline, recovery, and further decline. Among them, from January to February, the added value of the machinery industry increased by 2% year-on-year; from January to March, the value was 6.3%; from January to April, 5%; from January to May, it was 4.4%.
Shi Jianhua, deputy secretary-general of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said that from the January to May this year, due to factors such as the macroeconomic downturn and the implementation of the national six emission standards in some regions, the national automobile production and sales are at a low level, mainly in the performance of the industry. Weak market consumption, insufficient consumer confidence, and obvious wait-and-see attitude.
“The general equipment manufacturing industry and the automobile manufacturing industry account for about 60% of the industry. The growth rate has led to a slowdown in the growth rate of the value added of the entire machinery industry.” Chen Bin, executive vice president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, said that In terms of large categories, the automobile manufacturing industry decreased by 1% from January to May, which was 7 percentage points lower than that of the national industry; the general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 5.7% year-on-year, 0.3 percentage points lower than the national industry.
The growth rate of other categories is slightly stronger than the two categories mentioned above. For example, the special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 9% year-on-year, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry grew by 9.7%, and the instrumentation manufacturing industry grew by 9.9% year-on-year, which was higher than the national industrial growth rate of three, 3.7 and 3.9 percentage points respectively.
From the 120 main products monitored, there are 48 kinds of products with a year-on-year increase in output, accounting for 40%, 32 kinds less than the previous year; 72 kinds of products with a year-on-year decline, accounting for 60%, compared with the previous year. Add 32 kinds. Chen Bin said that from the trend, the types of products that have achieved output growth at the beginning of this year have decreased, and the number of products that have increased production has been less than half.
Chen Bin said that the characteristics of product output increase and decrease are mainly reflected in the growth of major products such as heavy machinery and petrochemical general machinery, but the growth rate has declined; the main basic parts products have maintained moderate growth; engineering machinery, environmental protection machinery and instruments have been growing rapidly. After that, the production and sales of products have become different, and the output of major products has risen and fallen; the production of electric appliances and machine tool products has slowed down further; the production of automobiles and agricultural machinery related products is still sluggish.
5G breaks through the bottleneck of intelligent manufacturing
At the press conference, Gao Qiang, vice president of Jiangsu Harbin Intelligent Robot Co., Ltd., said that the company was selected as the “Top 100 Machinery” for the first time benefiting from the opportunity of smart manufacturing.
"A new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation has emerged in the world. After more than ten years of technology accumulation, intelligent manufacturing has developed rapidly on a global scale. China is also following the trend of the times and constantly introducing new measures." Gao Qiang said that Harbin Intelligent In 2017, since the main business has shifted to the high-end intelligent equipment manufacturing, industrial robot one-stop cloud service platform and artificial intelligence field, the industrial chain layout of industrial robots has been initially completed. In the future, Harbin Engineering will further develop the synergy effect between artificial intelligence and high-end intelligent manufacturing industry, and build a bridge between technology and industry, industry and capital to help transform and upgrade the industry and contribute to building and manufacturing a strong country.
At the Mobile Communications Conference held not long ago, the world's first 5G remote-controlled excavator, jointly built by Sany Heavy Industry, Huawei, and Yuezhi Intelligent, was officially unveiled. In front of the remote console, the first view of the bucket and the far, near third viewing angle are clearly presented on the large screen. Through the mobile 5G network, the staff launched the world's first 5G remote-controlled excavator in the Luochuan Luanchuan Molybdenum Mine, which is thousands of miles away. In the open pit mining area, the equipment has completed remote and unmanned composite operations such as digging, turning, and loading.
Shi Xiangxing, director of the Institute of Three and One Digging, is the person in charge of the project. At the exhibition site, he couldn't conceal his excitement. "5G technology has made remote control finally break through the bottleneck of signal transmission. This is the case of the first 5G application in the global construction machinery industry."
Cai Weici, deputy director of the China Machinery Industry Federation's expert committee, said that under the severe external environment, the mechanical industry's own bright spot is the progress of structural adjustment and transformation and upgrading, mainly in the technological progress of digital, network and intelligent. Significantly accelerated.
Shi Jianhua also said that China's auto industry is accelerating the development of new energy, lightweight, intelligent network and digital, and the car is transforming into a large mobile intelligent terminal, energy storage unit and digital space, occupants, vehicles, goods, operating platforms and foundations. Facilities such as intelligent interconnection and data sharing. The production method has evolved to an intelligent manufacturing system with full interconnection and cooperation, and the R&D and manufacturing efficiency has been greatly improved.
Service-oriented manufacturing increases added value
In the user's view, good products and technical services are important criteria for purchase.
“With the hook machine and the loader, we have purchased the three factories several times. At present, there are already 7 sets of equipment from Shandong Lingong Group.” Talking about the mining equipment of the temporary construction, Liu Guangyan, director of a mining company in Changchun, concluded that "Less problems, high efficiency, oil-saving, and good service" are the feelings of using the equipment of the temporary brand, and it is also the main reason for the company to continuously purchase the equipment of the temporary brand.
“Improving added value through service-oriented manufacturing has become the direction of more and more enterprises.” Cai Weici said that in line with the trend of user demand, some enterprises have moved from system sales to system services in the past, from simply selling hardware to hardware and software supply. . This not only facilitates the user, but also enhances its own efficiency.
In the "Top 100 Machinery" list in 2018, Shantui Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. ranked 47th with a product line of "high and low speed" and a steady rise in business performance throughout the year, up 2 places from 2017.
It is understood that since 2018, Shantui has proposed a strategic transformation direction from "marketing-driven" to "product-driven", creating a product advantage of high attendance, low cost of use, fast service response, and full range of products, allowing customers to experience "high and low" Quick and full service experience.
The automotive industry has also begun to restructure its services, from product providers to "product + service + travel solutions" providers, and user interfaces have become key.
Shi Jianhua said that the new generation of young consumer groups is more personalized, with more emotional appeals for automotive products and services, including uniqueness, stress release and experience growth. The trend of automobile consumption is gradually shifting from performance consumption to emotional consumption. In the future, personalized customized production will become a trend.
"Overall, the restructuring and upgrading of the mechanical industry has made some progress, but it is not appropriate to be overly optimistic. If we can continue to advance, there will be considerable progress." Cai Weici said that this is the future hope of the machinery industry. He expects that the industry is expected to rebound in the second half of the year, and the annual growth rate is expected to reach 6%. In the next year and the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the average annual growth rate of the machinery industry may further drop to 5.5% to 6%.
